Hand pleated silk dress by Patricia and Charles Lester pays homage to their predecessor, Mariano Foruny, in this undulating ripple dress. Lustrous silk is accordion pleated and dyed by hand through the Lesters' secretive process, transforming the fabric into a fluid silhouette that moves with the body, accented with iridescent black oil slick glass beads throughout. Pullover style silk bound neckline is accented with tiny iridescent seed beads and gracefully drapes across the body with zigzag ripples at the waist and 3/4 length lettuce-edged sleeves. Slight variations in color throughout due to dying technique. We would wear lightly cinched with a chain belt at the waist and finished with gold drop earrings, channeling our inner muse, Henriette Fortuny. Eggplant, electric purple, oil slick iridescent black.
