The obsession of repetition lies at the root of what I do. Created with hand cut paper and pigment, the images are simple in the execution, yet visually complex. The simplicity of the image belies the complexity and laborious nature of the process involved in the construction of each work. The creation of the piece becomes a visual mantra for me, with the process having as much importance as the finished work. Inspired by patterns found in nature, each piece is a meditation in and of itself. Having spent my entire life on both coasts, Splash is dedicated to my lifelong love affair with the ocean. Waves can be gentle or fierce; at once invigorating and soothing. When my soul needs nurturing, I look to the sights, sounds, and smells of the ocean to heal and inspire.
